Papercraft Essentials Issue 163 ideas using the free gift.
So I bought Papercraft Essentials Issue 163 from my local supermarket because I had seen some lovely examples on Facebook of what people had made with the free gift. I buy craft magazines and look through the examples of what has been made and then the free gift probably goes in my stamp file or die folder never to be used, well maybe just once!
So I set myself a challenge to make 10 projects from the magazines free gift and to use all elements of the free gift and there was a lot in this free gift! An embossing folder, a bee die (very appropriate!) and numerous stamps and sentiments. I made 8 cards and 2 other projects namely an art book cover and milk carton style box. I also wanted to use different techniques that I hadn't used for a long time or never tried before.
For example letter pressing using an embossing folder and I finally got to use my distress oxides! (these are now my new favourite thing to use they are so easy to blend, I find ink blending quite difficult and usually end up with round blotchy circles where the blender hasn't blended the ink properly!)
Here is the video showing the projects in a little more detail and what techniques I used.
Anyway I hope you enjoyed watching my video and it inspires you to use your free stamps or dies that you have stashed away or maybe try a new technique like letter pressing using an embossing folder.
Whatever you do I hope challenge yourself and above all have lots of fun along the way!
